Wagmatcookewey School Notice!

The Director of Education, the Public Health Nurse and myself met today to discuss the high student absentee rate at Wagmatcookewey School in the past week.  Today, 88 students were absent from school.  The majority of absences were due to stomach and flu viruses.  From this meeting, we made a decision to close the school and the preschool building on Tuesday, April 19 and Wednesday, April 20 for all children and students.   The reason for the closure is to give students and staff an opportunity to recover from these viruses.  Staff will be required to report to work.

On Thursday, April 21, the student absentee will be reassessed and an update will be sent home with everyone.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at the school 902 295 3491 or 902 295 3009 or 902 295 1757.
