Wagmatcookewey School Notice!

On Monday, January 16 and on Tuesday, January 17, there will be no classes for students in K4, Primary, and Grade 1.  The teachers are going for professional development and we do not have enough substitutes to cover teachers.

Thank you,

Marjorie Pierro

Community Notice!

On Wednesday, January 11 there will be no classes for all students in grades Primary to Grade 12 due to an in-service.  The day will be spent with our elders from Big Cove, New Brunswick, Josey and Frank Augustine.

On Thursday, January 12, Josey and Frank will be doing traditional activities at the Culture Centre.  Josey and Frank look forward to coming back to our community.

They will be doing a pipe ceremony and a naming ceremony open to all our community members.  I hope our community will come join us on this day.  The pipe ceremony, which begins at 10am in the Great Hall, is a good way to begin healing.

For more information, contact Marjorie at the school 902 295 3491 or 902 295 1757.

Many Physical Education classes will be held outdoors during the winter months.  Activities such as snow shoeing, cross country skiing, sledding, ice fishing, etc. are all components of the PE program.  All students are expected to have winter clothing (jacket, hat, mitts, water resistant pants, boots, etc.) available for each PE class.  Also, during the winter months, it is also important for students to have proper  clothing and sneakers for any indoor PE classes.
Thank you!
Mr. White
